Bridging Cultures in International Arbitration

SIAC organised, together with JCAA (Japan Commercial Arbitration Association) its augural international arbitration conference in Tokyo, Japan titled “Bridging Cultures in International Arbitration” at the Ark Hills Club, Roppongi, on 14 November 2013. The sellout event, which was comprised of 3 panel sessions, saw a record turnout of 180 in-house lawyers, practitioners and academics. The panellists from Japan, Korea, the USA, the UK and Singapore shared their insights and practical tips on managing legal cultures, issues in international arbitration and the enforcement of arbitral awards in Asia. SIAC’s Chief Executive Officer, Ms Lim Seok Hui, spoke on a panel which discussed the “Potential Pitfalls in International Arbitration”.
